SUSTAINABILITY

CONSIDER THIS
SCENARIO

Investing in a cleaning machine that breaks down every few months, necessitating a technician's travel in a fuel-consuming vehicle for repairs.

The pollution caused by an inefficient and unreliable machine can drastically outweigh the initial carbon footprint to produce the machine.

The environmental cost of this cycle is substantial – from the carbon emissions of the technician's journey to the eventual disposal of the machine after a mere two years of use.

It's a wasteful and inefficient cycle that we at MotorScrubber are determined to break.

"Sustainability is one of the most important topics in the cleaning industry, with facilities management groups consistently evolving their plans to meet critical long term targets and ensure efficiency throughout every department, team and task.

The longevity and reliability of cleaning machines play a pivotal role, often overshadowed by discussions on energy sources and production methods.

At MotorScrubber, we recognise that the true impact of a sustainable product lies not only in its creation but in its enduring efficiency and reliability during operation.

With this in mind, our goals are shaped by the future of our planet. We are investing time and resource into experimenting with moulding our plastic components from 100% recycled materials, and stakes are in the ground for a fully self-sufficent factory here in Sheffield within the next 3 years.

These are our first steps to creating a sustainable industry for all. We look forward to you joining us."

OUR ETHOS

Historically, the ultimate goal for MotorScrubber is to empower cleaners with the most efficient and ergonomic cleaning machines - to deliver detail floor cleaning machines that provide five-star cleaning results as quickly and efficiently as scientifically possible.

This will always be the drive behind the company. However, it is become apparent that this is no longer a singular ambition that we must achieve.

Alongside our cleaning industry ambitions, we must ensure our manufacturing process becomes as sustainable for the environment as it possibly can. This statement begins with small steps that can help make a hugely positive impact on our planet.

4 KEY STEPS

1) Reducing water and chemical usage through efficient cleaning methods.

2) Redesigning all machine packaging to use 80% recycled cardboard, with a roadmap to using 100% within the next 12 months.

3) Manufacture cleaning machines made with recycled materials.

4) All our machines feature a free 3-year warranty.

WATER & CHEMICALS

REDUCTION

Conventional floor cleaning practices typically involve saturating the floor using a bucket of water or harsh chemicals to tackle stubborn stains. This approach poses significant environmental challenges due to the substantial wastage of water and chemicals - and it still doesn't clean 100% of the floor. This is where the detail floor cleaning category provides greater efficiency throughout the cleaning regime.

In our commitment to address this issue, we introduced the M3 as an initial step. Leveraging insights from customer experiences with the M3 and their cleaning routines, we developed the JET3 – incorporating our exclusive targeted spray system, and in 2023 we launched the worlds lowest profile floor cleaning machine - SHOCK.

Our detail floor cleaning machines offer precise control over the distribution of cleaning fluid - even into the hardest-to-reach areas - allowing cleaners to determine the optimal amount required. By adopting this system there is a remarkable reduction in water and chemical consumption of up to 85%.

SUSTAINABLY MANUFACTURED

CLEANING MACHINES

Our goal is to use recycled materials in as many components as possible to produce sustainable detail cleaning machines. We are committed to not only helping our environment. but not at the cost of reliability or cleaning performance.

Therefore, we manufacture as many parts for our machines with recycled materials in-house, at our production factory in Sheffield. This enables us to manufacture sustainable products while subjecting each component to rigorous testing in accordance with our exceptionally high standards.

We have strategically invested into top of the range 3D printers and a CNC machine to aid self-sustainability as early in the design process as possible.

RECYCLED CARDBOARD

PACKAGING

In 2023, our warehouse and logistics team embarked on an extensive research and design endeavor to enhance the packaging system for our machines during transit. The fruits of their labour materialised in the form of our new boxes, boasting a trifecta of improvements.

Firstly, these boxes are ingeniously smaller in size, resulting in a reduction of material usage. Secondly, a heightened packing efficiency has been achieved, leading to a decreased reliance on protective internal packaging. Lastly, our commitment to sustainability shines through, as these boxes are crafted from 80% recycled cardboard.

Building upon this foundation, our focus for 2024 is to further refine and innovate, with the ultimate goal of transitioning to 100% recycled packaging within the next 12 months. This ongoing evolution underscores our dedication to environmentally conscious practices in every aspect of our operations.

LONG LASTING

RELIABILITY

MotorScrubbers official warranty claim percentage for 2023 was 0.04%. This means for every 1000 machines sold, only 4 encountered a warranty issue.

One critical aspect often overlooked by consumers is the warranty claim percentage, a key indicator of a product's reliability. Many manufacturers shy away from disclosing this information, leaving customers unaware of the potential pitfalls of their purchase.

Our machines are manufactured in the United Kingdom, robustly tested, meticulously designed and engineered apparatus designed to withstand the test of time.
