About the Role
 

We’re looking for a highly driven and talented Product Design Engineer to join our busy product development team, to design new products that drive our new vision to reinvent the professional cleaning experience. You will be working on the design of revolutionary floor cleaning machines, focusing on designing parts and assemblies for manufacture.

Responsibilities
 

Reporting to our Lead Design Engineer, you will be:
 

  • Working in a growing development team of 7 design engineers.

  • Work closely with our CEO & Inventor to bring machines to life.

  • Aiding development and manufacture of final parts.

  • Operating in-house CNC facilities and 3D printers.

Required Experience

​

  • Degree level qualifications in product design or design engineering related degree

  • Proven experience of taking products from concept through to production ready designs

  • Experienced with Solidworks CAD – 5 years plus

  • Good mechanical problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with designing parts with integrated motors and electronics

  • Experience with design for injection moulding and die casting

  • Experience with producing 3D printed parts and designing for other prototyping processes

  • Experience designing products for high volume manufacture

  • An eye for functional detailing to ensure product reliability and ease of use

  • Design of internal fastening features

  • Parametric top-down modelling

  • Large complex assemblies

  • Part and assembly configurations

  • Surface modelling and shelling complex geometry

  • Part and assembly evaluation

  • Design drawings and technical communication

  • General dimensioning and tolerancing on parts and assemblies

  • Evaluation and analysis of designs

  • Experience dealing with manufacturers across various production processes.

  • Tooling adjustments

  • Sample inspection

  • Experience with engineering change request projects

  • Experience dealing with external manufacturing partners

  • Design refinement, iteration, and optimization of parts

  • Experience refining ergonomics using CAD
